Think Purple Workshops

3 workshop over he next couple of months . details below

THE ART OF MINDFULNESS

Come and enjoy a relaxing morning of meditation and mindfulness creating colourful intuitive art using paint and pastels.
This workshop is designed for total beginners that wish to explore their own individual creativity (and yes we all have it within us).
The workshop requires zero skill and is not about learning great technique. You will have a whole lot of fun with paint and other art materials.
This is a workshop designed for the only purpose of practising mindfulness through the processes of art.
Finding time to explore our imaginations while using our higher faculty of creativity is essential for our Health and well being.
I will show you how to switch off your busy chatty mind by learning an active meditation while playing with paint.
I am only concerned about “the journey of art making” (the PROCESS) not the final destination (THE PRODUCT). This is all about how much fun we can all have with paint, chalk pastels and oil pastels.
You will have the freedom to create without any pressure to perform or feel you need to create great masterpieces.
This mindful workshop is about practising present moment thinking and enjoying the freedom of using beautiful colours to explore your inner world.
The studio will be filled with the sound of beautiful piano and guitar music, as we drift off into the mindfulness and active meditation of right brain intuitive art making.
This is a workshop which will teach you how to let go of the control, Stop the perfectionism you may have and to relish in the beauty of letting yourself be led by your heart and intuition.
This workshop brings about an active meditative state where it is my hope you will drift off and switch off for a few hours, and leave feeling relaxed and re charged.
This therapeutic art process will allow you to open yourself up to new discoveries and unexpected surprises about yourself.
Please do not be afraid to step into a new world of art ,especially if you are someone who’s heart stops when it is suggested, and you allow your ego left hand logical brain to answer back to the suggestion with gafaws and laughter at the absurd idea of it all .
WE ARE ALL CREATIVE no ones was born with out it and there is not one of us that cannot say they didn’t enjoy drawing and colouring in as a child.
so please come and play it will unlock a whole new world of self love and self awareness.

PAINT AND PLAY TOGETHER

Without doubt the best thing that has come out of opening up THINK PURPLE, is the connection and unique bond I have created with my 12 year old daughter Winny.
We spend so much quality time together messing about with all kinds of art. whether it be craft, sewing, crochet or painting and drawing.
I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with her.
It has also been a time when i have been able to truly connect with her and talk about anything that might be happening in her life that she may need to get off her chest.

So I would like to invite anyone who would love to spend some one on one time with their most precious person, in a loving and creative environment. it doesn’t matter how old your kids are whether they are 6 or 16 i can guarantee they will love doing this with you!!!!
I know that my daughter has always loved it when i spent time messing about with arts and crafts with her. it’s always been such a nurturing and special bonding time with each other. And we get to share so many things with each other.
So here is what We do at these workshops
The best times we have had together in the studio, are the times we have spent creating a big abstract canvas art paintings together.

So how about it?
Would you love to come and play at the studio , with your child while painting a MASSIVE box canvas together?
This isn’t just for the mums i have had Dads creating amazing memories with their sons and daughters and i have also had grandparents with grand kids and aunties/uncles with nieces and nephews. the combinations go on and on lol
it can be as abstract as you like or maybe you can bring along a picture of what you would like to paint together. (now remember we need to let go of the control lol and let splashes and paint strokes happen at will.)
I will guide you in all aspects of the painting process,
All materials will be supplied including gesso, paints, brushes and other art mediums that may be required.
this workshop will run on Sunday the 4th October at 10.30am until around 1.30pm NSW time

Hi I’m Alisa. I am 18 years old and recently graduated from Banora Point High School. I am currently working at a local cafe until I figure out what path I want to take career wise.

I’m always dreaming about fashion so in my spare time I’m thrifting for some unique pieces to rework and add to my overflowing wardrobe. DIYing accessories and jewellery are another one of my hobbies – my latest project being the rings made of spoons that I have now decorated my hands with.

During High School, Kay’s art space was my comfort zone – I am hoping that I can recreate that same safe space for the youth of our community. To guide them through the same journey I just went through and be like an older sister to them haha. I was lucky enough to have a few mentor type figures like Kay but didn’t really have someone around my age that were outside my close circle of friends and family that I could express my feelings too.

In a nutshell, that’s what I hope to offer here – to lend an ear, have a chat, listen to some good music and make some cool art.

Hello everyone, my name is Bindi :)

I am 18 years old and have just finished high school at Banora.

Art has always been a part of my life and sharing the love I have for creating with young adults is both an unbelievable opportunity and a great enjoyment.

The reason why I am here is to hopefully be a person that my younger self needed, and with a space like think purple and the inspiring kay helping me I am more than excited to get creative

A little bit about myself is that I used to competitively swim and was lucky enough to compete and medal at nationals. But now over a year has passed since I stopped due to the loss of passion.

I found with swimming that it has taught me lessons that I’ll cherish forever, and even when I stopped swimming that was probably the greatest lesson of all.

Right now I still have no clue on what path I want to go down, but I know for sure I love talking and connecting with young people (probably because I am giant kid myself) and creating art.

Kindest regards Bindi xox
